I hope you all have had a wonderful festive season with family and friends. Thank you to all who popped into to see us and thank you for all our lovely Christmas cards . The mild weather ensured that we saw record numbers of families not only joining us for a drink but also eating with us. This year we kicked off our festive season with the village Christmas fair, what an amazing turn out, we had lots of people throughout the day exploring the stalls and meeting up with friends. Christmas Eve was a fantastic evening for us and always one of our most anticipated events of the year, many glasses of mulled wine poured, carol singing, a visit from Father Christmas and generally a lot of merry making. The great weather over Boxing and New Years day saw an amazing number of walkers and families visiting Thorpeness. Everyone seemed to be truly enjoying themselves.
Looking back over this past year we have enjoyed quite a few successes - overall we managed to raise nearly £5500.00 for various charities including donations to our local church, The Orwell trust, The Brain tumour society, we sent much needed funds off to Nepal disaster and Water aid also benefited . We also had a huge response to the call for help for all those who had lost everything in Cumbria. So A BIG Thank you to all those who volunteered to help us not only with Beach Clean, The Village fete, coffee mornings, draw prizes but for also supporting our events, every little bit helps and together we have made a difference not only in our local community but to those in need around the world.
On to this year, we have many events already planned along and with the Country Club, I am confident we should have another bumper year. Shortly Chris will again be making loads of pancakes on Shrove Tuesday starting at about 3.30pm teaching the little ones to make pancakes and please remember Valentines day and Mothers day are just around the corner so please book as we do fill up quickly. Thanks again for all your support and I look forward to seeing you again.
